Carbon motor brushes are one of the most commonly replaced components in modern power tools. Because they are wear items, after months or years of using your tool the brushes will gradually wear away due to repeated exposure to friction and heat. Worn brushes can easily be the cause of intermittent motor function, reduced motor power and reduced electric braking.
A worn out brush will commonly be most worn down near the wire lead and may be pitted, cracked or burned. When you replace the carbon brushes, make sure to also inspect your armature for cracks, burns or other damage which often indicates a more serious problem with the motor.
1619PA5590 Field 120V
Genuine OEM Bosch replacement field designed for use with the 4000 series Bosch table saws. This field drives the table saw in conjunction with the armature. A field is often damaged by overloading the power tool, or sometimes because of a faulty armature. We highly recommended replacing both carbon brushes when you replace the field.
This repair requires a screwdriver.
• Double check the saw is unplugged
• Remove the brush covers and take out the brushes
• Remove all the cap and the housing screws
• After the housing is removed you will then have access to the field
• Disconnect all the wires leading from the field (take a photo first)
• Remove the old field and replace it with the new replacement field unit
• Reconnect all the wires (using the photo you took earlier)
• Reassemble the motor in the reverse order of above
1619PA5591 Armature
Genuine OEM Bosch replacement armature assembly (not a cheaper aftermarket alternative). Specifically manufactured for 4000 series table saw electric motors. The armature is one of the most important parts of an electric motor. With time and regular use the armature will wear out and will eventually need to be replaced. If you notice any smoke or sparks coming from the rear vents on your tool, it is most likely that the tool was overloaded at some point in the past.
It’s recommended to replace both of the carbon brushes when replacing the armature as this will certainly help to keep extend the life of the new electric motor assembly. This part (1619PA5591) includes the armature and the fan. Also note that the bearings and other parts are sold separately.

Getting To Know Your Table Saw

1. POWER SWITCH
Has safety feature, which is intended to prevent accidental
starting (Page 36).
2. TABLE
Provides large working surface to support workpiece.
3. BASE
Supports table saw. For additional stability, holes are provided in
base to bolt the saw to a workbench or stand.
4. BLADE TILT LOCK HANDLE
Locks the tilt mechanism after the blade is adjusted to desired
position.
5. TABLE EXTENSION
Provides a larger work surface for longer workpieces.
6. TABLE EXTENSION LOCK HANDLE
Allows you to lock the table extension at desired distances.
7. ELEVATION WHEEL
Elevates or lowers the blade. Also used to tilt the blade 0 to 45

thick and the same size as the rip fence.
Attach it to the fence with three round head No. 12 wood
screws 2' long 24 not included (Fig. 3).
